What Ukrainians need for IT employment in Lithuania

Ukrainian citizens are eligible for employment only if there are no applicants among Lithuanians or EU citizens for the vacant position.

In order to employ a foreigner, a Lithuanian employer must obtain a labour exchange permit that is valid for a maximum period of 2 years (6 months within one year – in case of seasonal employment). If the application is approved, the employment contract must be submitted to the Employment Exchange within two months.

The employee must obtain a type D visa at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine. In order to do so he/she will need:
