What you need for official employment in the Czech Republic
Priority in obtaining a job in the Czech Republic is given to locals, Swiss, and residents of EU and EEA states. Nationals of «Third world countries» which include Ukrainians, are employed if there are no candidates for the vacancy from these countries.
The prerequisite for legal work in the Czech Republic for Ukrainian residents – availability of working (employment) card, which was introduced in 2014.
Application for the card is submitted at the Czech Consulate in Ukraine. It is possible to obtain the card within three days upon arrival in the country on a long-term visa (D) at the department of migration policy of the state Ministry of the Interior.
Conditions for the issuance of the card:
- The possession of a work visa; .
- presence of evidence that the vacancy is reserved to the applicant; .
- present a medical certificate; .
- certificate of absence of criminal record. .
